Syrian plastic artist residing in Canada.
He was born and
educated in Syria. In 1998 he received a postgraduate degree in fine arts from
Damascus University.
Al-Hinnawi created
his own world of abstraction influenced by the infinitesimal forms or giant
forms in the infinite universe to prove that the forms of life, no matter how
different, are similar and coexist.
His subjects varied between portraiture, landscapes, and
abstraction, using painting and mixed media, where he transformed raw materials
such as barbed wire, nails, fabrics, stones, and others to express the
suffering of his people and deliver humanitarian messages condemning violence.
Al-Hinnawi has his
own philosophy which is reflected in his works, as he considers that man is an
integral part of nature and he must be in harmony with it
