A Syrian plastic artist, his works deal with many topics such as popular cafes and public places, in addition to legends, drawing inspiration from them and expressing the crises that people suffer from today, the severity of which is difficult to coexist with. He held about 60 personal exhibitions inside and outside Syria. Most notably: an exhibition on the Epic of Gilgamesh in the Four Seasons Gallery in Los Angeles, and his works are distributed in various museums around the world.
His artistic production depends on contemporary man and his crises in the twenty-first century. His technique is based on the total editing of form to push the viewer through the visual shock of the attention that there is a problem with the subject and life of the painting.
Saad Yakan was born in Aleppo in 1950. He studied art at the Fine Arts Center in Aleppo in 1964, and joined the College of Fine Arts in 1970. He is considered one of the brightest contemporary Syrian artists, as he adopts a unique style that distinguishes him in particular. Hundreds of articles have been written about his experience and studies have been published on him in books and periodicals around the world. He also received many awards and honors, and participated in jury committees for many exhibitions and biennales
